The Holy Trinity Cathedral

The Holy Trinity Cathedral in Addis Ababa is the highest-ranking Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church in the country. It's a powerful national symbol of resilience, a major pilgrimage site, and the final resting place of Emperor Haile Selassie.

· 📜 History: Emperor Haile Selassie began construction in 1931 to honor Ethiopia's victory over Italian occupation. While interrupted by the war, it was completed in 1942 after liberation, serving as a triumphant symbol of reclaimed independence. It also serves as an important mausoleum for the Imperial family and heroes of the resistance.
